The cheapest instrument on the bench is the one that costs you a batch
Every other failure in a workshop announces itself. A roll wears through and the line stops. A chaser snaps and the machine stands. You know immediately, and you act.
Measurement is the exception. A drifting caliper or a knocked micrometer says nothing at all. It hands you a number that looks exactly like a correct number — and you machine to it, sign it off, and ship it.
The cost arrives later: a rejected batch, an assembly that won’t go together, a customer sending the job back. By then the tool that caused it is still sitting in the drawer, still reading confidently, still wrong.

The Most Important Part
Thread gauges, available to buy online
Try pricing a thread ring gauge in South Africa. Most suppliers will tell you “price on request”. Threading has been our founding discipline since 2014. It seemed reasonable to simply publish what the gauges cost.
GO
It checks the thread isn't too tight. If it won't go, the thread is undersize and the part is scrap or rework.
NO-GO
More than a turn or two and the thread is oversize — it will assemble, then fail under load.

Before you buy
Is Accud accurate enough for production QC?
Do the instruments come with a calibration certificate?
This varies by model. Tell us the item you are considering and we will confirm exactly what is supplied with it before you order, rather than leaving you to find out on delivery.
What is the difference between a GO and a NO-GO gauge?
The GO gauge must engage the thread — if it does not, the thread is too tight. The NO-GO gauge must not engage beyond a turn or two — if it does, the thread is too loose. Pass means GO goes and NO-GO does not. That is the whole test.
Do you deliver outside Gauteng?
Yes — nationwide, and free on orders over R2 000. We also run dedicated cross-border routes into Botswana, Zambia and Malawi under our Tools for Africa programme.
Can I get a size that isn't listed on the site?
Usually. The website carries a selection of the Accud range; we can source across the wider catalogue. Send the size or the part number to WhatsApp and we will confirm availability and price.
Can I come and look at them first?
